This beautiful Palmetto Star authentic Mexican handcrafted Talavera tile is displayed on a multi-use macramé holder. This Girasol, sunflower Talavera tile was created in Mexico. This sunflower coaster is an example of Mexican Folk Art. The Talavera style was well known to and created centuries ago in Puebla, Mexico, but its roots originated in Spain & dates back to the 15th & 16th centuries. Even now, you can see ornately decorated churches beautifully decorated with Talavera in Puebla.
This piece is handcrafted with 3mm cotton single strand cord, and hangs from a 1.5" wood ring. Its minimalistic design allows for the beauty of this gorgeous tile to be accentuated. Not only is this tile beautiful, it is also a dual purpose design. The tile can be removed to be used as a coaster with a cork backing to protect any surface you place it on. When you are using your coaster with your hot or cold drink, you can use the macramé holder to display your favorite photo in! This piece is not only multifunctional, you could display it anywhere you need a splash of color. The pretty, deep cobalt blue contrasts nicely with the green orange and yellow colors of the tile.
This would make a great Mother's Day, housewarming or birthday gift for the person that appreciates beautifully crafted gifts.
